“Although many issues facing Americans today produce large partisan splits... policy to enable more housing simply isn’t one of them.”

Tushar Kansal

Tushar is a Senior Officer on the Housing Policy Initiative at the Pew Charitable Trusts. In that role, he engages with foundations, nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations to build broad-based support for increasing access to safe and affordable financing and housing availability. He also conducts research and analysis on ways to increase housing availability and safe home financing.

Prior to joining the housing team, Tushar worked in Pew’s strategy department for five years and was previously a public policy consultant and mediator at the Consensus Building Institute. He holds a bachelor’s degree in social studies from Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in urban planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
