Title: Manager of Operations
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)
About Inclusive Abundance:
Abundance is a new and growing movement to foster a more vibrant economy with widespread flourishing.
Inclusive Abundance is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization bringing together notable policy experts, think tanks, and advocacy groups to shape America's future through an abundance-focused agenda. In the coming year, we are excited to promote new approaches to housing, energy, innovation, and government effectiveness. We believe in the power of ideas, and we are fostering a community to champion them.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented professional to join our team full-time to lead Inclusive Abundance's internal operations. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Manager of Operations will own the systems and processes that keep things running smoothly — from budget tracking and HR administration to technology infrastructure and organizational automation. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives on building efficient systems, is comfortable working with modern technology and AI tools, and can operate independently to keep a fast-growing organization on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead organizational automation efforts, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows using AI tools and other technology solutions.
- Manage the organization's budget tracking, financial reporting, and expense management processes, working closely with leadership and external accounting partners.
- Oversee HR operations including onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, and compliance with employment regulations.
- Build and maintain the organization's operational infrastructure, including project management systems, internal documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Manage logistics for organizational events, briefings, and receptions, including venue coordination, vendor management, and day-of execution, in collaboration with program and government affairs teams.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Support organizational planning processes including budgeting cycles, annual planning, and board reporting.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Collaborate across the team to identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, improving how the organization works day-to-day.
Successful candidates will have:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in operations, with a preference for experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
- Passion for and proven alignment with our organization's mission and values.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with financial management, including budget tracking, expense reporting, and working with external accountants or bookkeepers.
- Familiarity with HR processes and employment compliance for small organizations.
- Experience with 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) time tracking and legal compliance.
- Fluency with modern technology tools and a willingness to experiment with new solutions. Experience with Airtable, Gusto, and AI tools such as Claude (particularly Claude Code or Cowork) is strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A proactive mindset — someone who identifies problems and builds solutions rather than waiting for direction.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience (ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 per year).
- Opportunities for professional development and growth.
- A collaborative, supportive, and exciting work environment.
- Health reimbursement arrangements available for employees to purchase insurance on the exchange, and additional health insurance and retirement benefits coming soon.
